Bookaholic

There’s nothing quite like the smell, feel, and look of a new book.

Last Friday, I visited the local bookstore with a two-book list. After I spent an amazing hour and a half roaming, I tossed the list and left with six. And these three goodies are on the top of my TBR pile and highly recommended by my writing buds…

What books are you reading and/or purchasing lately?

Happy Wednesday!

I agree completely with that opening sentence. I’m as gluttonous as you in a bookstore. Local shops need our support.

I’m reading an ARC (Michelle Wildgen’s But Not For Long – October release) for our book review club. I just bought Tracy Kidder’s Strength in What Remains from our local independent bookstore.

I love book stores!!

You've got a nice list - would like to read #2 and have read #3.

I'm reading several mystery/suspense authors as I work on my suspense wip. I'm currently reading Allison Brennan's "The Prey" and have another Marcia Muller coming. Reread Laura Caldwell's "The Rome Affair" - will review them all in the Book Review Club's upcoming meetings.

But the book I'm reading right this minute is "The War of Art" - very powerful!

I read P & P just recently and loved it. Hope you do too. It's so hard choosing which books to buy at the bookstore, isn't it?

I just finished Silent Killer by Beverly Barton and now I'm reading Acts of Mercy by Mariah Stewart.

pps...The Yankees are in the playoffs!!!

I'm trying to go through some I already have but it's slow...

I haven't really bought anything new to me lately... I have replaced a couple of my "keeper" books that had the pages falling out of them, and the ones I'd given away to friends.

I'm looking forward to the next book in Nora Roberts latest series, and have that on my TBB list.

I am in a cozy mystery reading frenzy ... but I'm getting those from the library until I find a series I really love (there are so many cozies out there!!).

I have several friends whose books will be out in print soon, and I'll get those as well. I haven't really taken the time to browse in a bookstore in a really long time -- mostly because my DD is with me, and some of the romance covers? Oy.

I'm trying to stay away from the bookstore. It's dangerous.

Right now, I'm reading Bloodhound, and it's AWESOME.

I thought the "comment" option was gone, lol. Glad to find it over here. ;)

I just bought Sara Zarr's Once Was Lost and Albert Borris' Crash Into Me. And I've got the weekend off from the day job, so I'm going to have fun reading!

Hi, Kathy! I can't wait to read your reviews. Enjoy your books. :)

Yes, Angela!! I'm always shuffling around with a big pile. :)

Yay, Dru!!! I've been so engrossed with the WNBA and my WIP, I've been getting daily updates from my brother. :) Can't wait for October baseball!! :)

Hi, PJ!! I'll keep you posted. :)

Makes me think I need to schedule an hour at the bookstore! But I'm afraid how much I might spend...

I haven't been buying lately, but I am reading several books right now. My guilty pleasure is the latest Charlaine Harris Sookie tale. I'm also reading several things for my teaching.
