Save Second Base

It’s that time of year again. Time to get Pinked.

The amazing Alexandra, who lost her mother to breast cancer before she even graduated high school, will be walking the 3 Day, as she does every year, this weekend for Team Mary’s Angels. Alexandra is so inspiring, tirelessly raising money and awareness for the disease in honor of her mother. Good luck, Alexandra!

Catch any of the MLB playoffs? I’m loving the series this year. And not just because the Yankees swept the Twins (okay, yeah), but I’m crossing my fingers for a Yankees vs. Phillies World Series – a dream of mine since childhood. My brother is a HUGE Phillies fanatic, along with everyone else here in the Philadelphia area and my father, hubby, and I are HUGE Yankees fans. Fingers crossed for our dream series. Ron, you’re going down.

Who are you rooting for? And what are you doing this weekend? Back to hermitville – my first deadline is 11/1.

Happy Wednesday!

Inspiring to hear about Alexandra.

I don't follow baseball or any sports unless my kids are playing on a team. Given that I'm from NYC originally, I'm rooting for the Yankees.

Go Alexandra!
Even though I was so sporty as a teen, I really don't watch much sports except Bears football once in a while...(and of course my own children's games).

Good luck with the deadline Keri. I don't know about you, but I almost need some sort of looming cut off point to make any significant progress.

Hey, Kelly!! :) Check out Derek Jeter - you might change your mind about watching. :)

Hey, Big Plain V!! I'll give you one - 11/1. :) We're in it together.

Absolutely, Dru! I second that. :)

Oh my goodness ... 'Save Second Base' ... what a clever name! We are huge supporters of this cause ... my mom had it 7 years ago, and is now dealing with metastatic breast cancer (just found out just over a month ago). I truly hate cancer. Good luck and BRAVO to Alexandra!!!!!

Hey, Kelly. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Sending bunches and bunches of hugs to you, your mom, and your family. My mother also battled the disease last year along with my maternal grandmother eight years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Let me know if you need anything.
