Addiction

I'm addicted. Bad. Like almost late for work addiction. Like missed lunch yesterday addiction. What am I addicted to? Facebook.

I was hesitant to join Facebook at first, but then my friend joined and raved about it, so I had to check it out. Facebook is amazing. Not only can you find friends pretty easily, but you can take meaningless quizzes, poke people, and give gifts. I love quizzes. In fact, I miss quizzes from my teen mag days. Okay, I still buy teen mags for research. But, I don't need to spend money for a magazine anymore when I can just complete all the quizzes I want on Facebook.

Here are some quizzes I completed so far:

1. Are you intelligent? I deleted the findings. :)
2. Are you a tomboy? Yes.
3. Who were you in a past life? Marilyn Monroe. What???
4. Have you ever? Fun! And you can compare your answers to your friends.
5. New York Yankees Player Quiz. I'm ranked 745th so far.

Do you have a Facebook page? If not, check it out. :) What's your summer addiction?

Today, I'm over at Pretty Tough blogging about the NPF and USA softball player blogs.

Did anyone see the Home Run Derby last night? Wow. Josh Hamilton put on quite the show and his story is even more spectacular.

Have a great day everyone! :)

I just joined Facebook, and it's scary how you could spend all day there and not get bored.

Yikes.

I'm afraid of Facebook. I know it's going to suck out my brain and ensure the kids never get fed again.

So, of course, I just joined Facebook, too! 13 heard about it, and sent me a poke. Gotta love that kid.

People have already written on my wall, too. I need more friends, but I'm afraid to go on there and do too much (been too busy the last few days), because I KNOW I'll get sucked in. I'm going to find you this weekend, though.

Oh, and Marianne is there! Gotta add her as well. I ::boggled:: at the number of "friends in common" that come up when I log on.

Ay-yi-yi.

I'm on facebook, but I haven't really had enough time to explore yet . . .though I'm looking forward to when I do!

My neice won a copy of SCREWBALLS at Rock 'n' Read- how cool is that?

Are we friends on Facebook yet? I'll go check!
It's actually really cool for connecting, and I can totally see where it would be a huge time suck.

I've been on it for years and it's still just as addicting now as when I first joined! I don't really get into any of the applications but I'm always checking profile updates. In fact, I think I'm due for a checking in right now... ;)

Hi, Marianne - I know it is scary. :)

Hi, Amy - Be afraid, be very afraid. :) Yes, add me and I'll look for you too.

Hi, Virginia - A fluff friend?? No, I'm a total newbie. Please friend fluff me. :)

Hi, Alyson - Be very cautious if you're on deadline.:) Yay!! I'm so glad your niece won SCREWBALL.

Facebook does the stalking for you. I deleted mine the same day I made it. I think I plan on just sticking to myspace and blogspot.

Yes, Josh was amazing. I went to the All Star Red Carpet Parade and the only sad aspect was my camera battery died so I didn't get any pictures.

Thanks for stopping by on my blog.

(I tried to send this to you via email but it kept being sent back to me)

Hello and I hope you’re doing well! Justin Hoenke here…the teen librarian from the Cape May County Library. I’ve been meaning to drop you a line to say hello and to thank you for participating in the Teen Writer’s Workshop this summer. I’ve heard good things about the program so far. The teens I talk to really enjoy what you’re doing.

I’m going to stop by one of the events…I was planning on stopping by tonight but I foolishly made other plans. What day would be good for me to come by and say hello to you and the teens? I’d also like to take some pictures for our Flickr page as well…

Well, that’s about all. Have a good program tonight and I hope to hear from you soon.

PS! I'm going to find you on Facebook!

MySpace sucked up my life about a year or so ago...so I've been resisting the FB temptation. I've got enough time wasted with my blog...I'd feel guilty trying to go to FB, too!

Hi, Justin - I just emailed you.. See you soon. :)

Hi, Beth - Resist as long as you can. :)

Hi, Kaitlyn - What?? Were you stalked? ;)

Hi, Dru - That stinks.. It's nice to find another Yankee fan. :)

I never got your email.

Yes and you can bite people on the neck (it works so much better on facebook than... well outside of facebook)

I was addicted when I started also. I think I set a world record for sending those hatching egg things...

I haven't been to facebook in awhile (moving + novel revision = no time) but we simply must friend each other there!
