Pretty Tough Tuesday

Today I'm over at Pretty Tough profiling amazing Alabama athlete, Baylee Grace Alldrege, the third Pretty Tough Screwball contest winner. I received an email from her mom this morning. Baylee won her league championship last night and hit two homeruns! Way to Go, Baylee!

Right now, I'm working out the details for a monthly book giveaway contest right here on my blog called Yay for YA. One of my writing gigs involves writing a column for a local magazine, South Jersey Mom. It's called Chick Lit Pick and I receive A LOT of ARCs. So every month, I'm going to giveaway TWO books, one of my current fave YAs and a book that I read for the column. I have a hard time parting with books, but they're starting to pile up on the floor of my office. And I absolutely LOVE chatting about and sharing good books, so I can't wait to share some of my faves.

Does anyone else hoard books? Or do you hoard something else?

Screwball News: The marvelous Nicole B. from Word for Teens is sponsoring a SCREWBALL contest. To win a signed copy of SCREWBALL, you have to come up with a softball team name. Check out some of the extremely creative names here

I just went to my first library conference and got a bunch. But I'm not ready to part with them yet. Maybe after a few more :)

I'm a complete and total book hoarder-- it's just too hard to part with them!
Very jealous of all those free ARCs of yours . . .

I do hoard books. And, well, lots of things. :)

PJ - You lucky duck.. I have to find out when there is a library conference near me. :)

Alyson - Yes, I know. Me too. It's painful, but seriously, my office is looking really cluttered.

Barrie - :) My dad hoards batteries. Says, you never know when you need them.

Great idea! I love YAY for YA! And I hoard EVERYTHING: Books, magazines, receipts, clothes, toys. It's impossible for me to throw anything away, and the clutter is getting a little out of control. Definitely time to start tossing/donating/giving away some of this stuff. You know what they say..."one woman's trash..." XO

I have a hard time parting with books, even ARCs...but it is necessary!

I always say I'm haging onto them for my kids, but the truth I need to give more away.

My kids are out of the board books stage and I have MANY that I haven't donated. And since it will probably be about 20 years before I have grandkids, I don't think I can use that excuse.

I donate pb mock-ups and MG ARC's to my daughters' school library / clasroom.

Your contests are such fun!

Hi, Alexa - Receipts? Toys can become overwhelming. :) BTW - I know who number four is. :)

Hi, Angela - My parents always bring out these old Fisher Price toys for my daughter and her cousins. There's some interesting stuff. I like the library idea. :)

I have a lot of books, but I don't hoard. Most get passed on to my grandmother or someone else.

BTW, my copy of SCREWBALL finally, arrived...I'm hooked!
