Living the Dream

Actor, comedian, and Yankees fanatic, Billy Crystal, was bummed about turning sixty. So, what does Crystal do after chatting about his big birthday with New York Yankees shortstop and captain, Derek Jeter? He signs a one day contract to play exhibition baseball with the Yankees. On Wednesday, Crystal, wearing the number sixty, worked out with the team. Then, yesterday, he led off during the first inning, his only at bat, against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Crystal struck out after six pitches, but he did manage to foul one off.

Wow! Can you imagine how amazing this moment was for Crystal? It made me think. If I could do anything for one day, what would I do? Easy. I probably would do exactly what Crystal did, play baseball for the New York Yankees or go out with Derek Jeter. :)

What would you do?

I don't know what I would do if I could do anything for one day! Probably star in a movie with Brendan Fraser and we'd get to do a kissing scene that day...

I'd want to play in a band with Brody Dalle of the Distillers/Spinnerette. I have such a girl crush on her. I can't actually play, but maybe she could teach me, or I could just sing and it would magically sound good!

Sounds like fun, Amy. I'm going to steal your great idea.. Star in a sports movie with Derek Jeter with lots of kissing scenes. :)

Wow, totally cool for Crystal! I don't really know. I think I'd love to do a walk through on a television set. I love television so it would be great to see how it all works!

Hi, Rhea - Sounds like fun.. Floating around. :)

Hi, Sara - Very cool. ;)

Hi, Kelly - That's a good one. I was on Double Dare when I was in 5th grade. What a great time!

Playing baseball would rock--but not with the hated Yankees! Cincy Reds all the way. ;-)

As far as my dream day--maybe instantaneous knowledge of how to do three-day eventing or something, with the horse and all to go with.
