Casinos and a Celebrity Sighting

Does he look familiar?
It's Jason Acuna, AKA Wee Man, and he was hanging at the Borgata last Thursday. While playing the slots, I spotted him, except as usual, I froze. So, I didn't get an autograph or even a wave. I just stood and stared while Wee Man kind of looked around, averting all eye contact.
Have you been to the Borgata? Although, I only live about twenty minutes away from Atlantic City, this was my first trip to the gorgeous new casino. And I loved it. Well, I'm not really hard to please. I kind of love all casinos. The lights, the dings, the stores.

Speaking of casinos. Recently, my dad retired and I started thinking about getting old (Dad if you're reading this, you're not old). Do you have a retirement dream? You know, like I'm going to spend my retirement doing (blank).

Here's mine. I will be a very happy lady if by the time I retire, I'm parked in front of a flashing slot machine, sipping drinks, and holding a designer bag. And then, I'd like to spend the rest of my days golfing, reading, writing, watching sports and attending author functions. And I'd like to have all my functions.

What's yours?

Have an amazing day, everyone! :)

I would like to retire to South Carolina close to the theatre and historical musuems. I want to build a room in my new cottage in SC that will be filled with books. I also want to travel across the USA and Europe.

I love casinos too--especially the Vegas ones!! Though I hate all the smoke- it gives me a headache!

I'm not sure I want to retire--but still, the retirement dream is to put all my "stuff" into storage, and pack 2 bags, one filled with clothes and essentials, one filled with books, then grab my husband, some plane tickets, and travel the world . . .

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I would probably avert my eyes from Wee Man, too.

Hey, Alyson! Great plans. Love the bag filled with books. :)

Hi, Jill! He totally averted his eyes from me.. :) Love your blog! :)

I love thinking about this kind of thing. Got it all planned out too. And just so you know: I'm not joking.

I'm gonna be a total recluse and live in replica of Ireland's 'Obrien's tower' and have a handfull of humanoid robots made up to look like chess pieces to wait on me.

Awesome, right?

Hi, Big Plain V! Love it! And I'm reading this to my hubby right now.. For real? :) And when does your book drop? :)

I think I'd like to travel--but not too much. There are tons of places I'd love to see, but I'm a total homebody. I'll be taking it slow. :)

Glad you had a fun visit to Atlantic City and a relaxing holiday full of books and movies/shows.

I've never been to many casinos. The last one I was in was in Las Vegas 5 years ago. The guards didn't let me and my step-cousin step inside the casino while my relatives were getting keys to the hotel rooms. Haha, that's my only experience in a casino and I was approaching seventh grade...

All my functions would be a very desirable thing!

Haven't thought that far ahead. I try, but I can't.

I would like to think that by the time I retire, I've saved enough money to be able to travel wherever and whenever I want!

I would have a house by the sea (in the Philippines) on my very own island. With lots of coconut trees.

Unfortunately, my hubby's idea of the dream place is Alaska, so I'm not sure who would win out in the end. :-)

It's Wee Man! Funny story. I was at a Chevelle concert and Bam Margera was behind the bar and I yelled "SteveO! Hey SteveO!" A guy took our picture with him and he is flipping me off in the photo...I realized about ten minutes later it was Bam!
My retirement dream is to live close to my children and babysit my grandchildren, read, write poetry, go off on short trips with the hubby.

Not into gambling, but spending my time reading, traveling, writing, and spending time with friends & family sounds pretty good to me.

urgh, im still trying to figure out my high-school major! if i had a retirement plan, i would also have some serious prioritizing issues. tho traveling does sound good to me.
ive been in the borgata a couple times for concerts. its a good place to see one, its small so ur pretty close to the stage no matter where u r. casinos are nice places to look at, with all the expensive decorations and light fixtures and everything, but i just see that as proof that the casino will make more $ than u will...i have several gambling addicts in my family, so its sorta something ive been raised against...

I'm a writer. I have no intention of retiring. Part of the joy of being a writer is I get to do whatever catches my interest and get paid to write about it.

Hi, Teri! Join me by the slots! ;)

Hi, Kelly! Great story.. And I like your plans. :)

Hi, Lenore! :)

Hi, Caryn! Me too. :)

Hi, Beth! Yup.. It can definitely be a trap. And living were we do, it's so tempting.. Who did you see? Stay warm!

Hi, Devon! Now that I write everyday, I can't imagine living a life without writing.. Then, what will I do with the voices in my head and the crazy dreams? :) JK.

i saw maroon 5, counting crows and sarah bareilles in concert @ the borgata, then another time was matchbox 20 and alanis morisette. both were really good concerts, but i couldnt fully appreciate the matchbox 20 one cuz we had floor tickets, and i couldnt see over the crowd. it took me til someone mentioned it to notice that the lead singer was wearing a kilt. so, i personally recommend getting a seat at a borgata concert, tho its a lot more expensive. and i am pretty short, so that may have just been me.

Sounds like fun - especially, Counting Crows. :) Thanks for the tip. I'm on the hunt for a good Borgata show. :)
