YAY FOR YA JUNE GIVEAWAY

Another month another contest. I love giving away books and already I notice a de-clutter difference in my office. Thanks everyone for entering. :)

June is one of my top three favorite months of the year. Why? Because June is the month I married my hubby, the month I found out I was going to be an aunt for the first time, and the month school always let out for the summer. I love June.

After writing the blog for Story Siren about proms, I started thinking about weddings. The ultimate prom. In celebration of June, I'll be giving away two summer novels, Sarah Dessen's That Summer (Haven is dealing with her father's and sister's weddings.) and an ARC of Polly Williams's A Bad Bride's Tale (Stevie's getting older and decides to settle for Not Quite Mr. Right.).

That Summer is obviously amazing because Dessen wrote it. Enough said.

A Bad Bride's Tale is a cute, light beach read about a woman who decides to marry her longtime boyfriend because she's afraid her soul mate will never come along. Loved it. I received this one through my South Jersey Mom Magazine Chick Lit Pick column.

Since this month's contest is overflowing with weddings and fantastic trips follow weddings, what is your fave vacation spot? If you haven't visited your favorite vacation spot yet, tell me about a place that you would love to visit. I would love to visit Hawaii and I declare Hawaii my favorite vacation spot. :) Good luck.

Here are the rules:

1. To enter to win, leave a comment about your favorite vacation spot.
2. The contest ends at midnight on June 30, 2008 and the winner will be posted on July 1, 2008. My two year old daughter will pick the winner out of a bucket. :)
3. The contest is open to everyone! Don't be shy, my writer friends. :)
4. If you post about the contest on your blog or MySpace, you automatically receive two entries.

Good luck! :)

Favorite vacation spot.... Hmm. I think maybe a nice quiet beach covered with palm trees for shade with a hammock (gotta love those hammocks!) with access to a library full of books I want to read. Haven't been there yet, but would love to find it some time!

Of all the places I've been I'd have to say my favorites are the Colorado Springs area and Juneau, AK. They're both such a dramatic change from the cornfields of the midwest.

My favorite vacation spot would have to be...well to be honest I've never really taken a "real" vacation before, so the only places I know are home, Vegas, and Canada. I enjoyed Canada, but it wasn't my favorite and Vegas definitely isn't either. So I guess I would have to say home, where I'm close to the beach. And everyone knows it's not summer without the beach. :D

Thanks for the entry!

I don't really go on vacations a lot. But my favorite vacation spot was when we went to Managua, Nicaragua. The beaches we so beautiful, warm and tranquil. If you walked along the same beach called Pochomil you would see a little area where crabs, fish and shellfish. It's so wonderful there. You feel your worries leave and they're replaced with peace. It's a must go vacation spot.Bonus: everything is cheaper there.

To me, vacations are a chance to get away to a whole different reality where test time becomes a calm tea time and the world slows down for a moment and takes a breath.

That said, I think Taipei, Taiwan, though not a common vacation spot, is my favorite place for vacations. The lush, green mountains are a great place for getting fresh and warm green tea, grown right there in the mountains.

You wake up to warm, toasty smells of breakfast made by vendors in the marketplace. Fruits there are lush and juicy, all grown right there in Taiwan. And best of all, this is home to me. And visiting my poipoi (grandma) is the best.

My favorite vacation spot (so far) was on the beach in Cancun. Barcelona was a close second. I guess it depends on my mood. Cancun was all about laying on the beach and reading, while Barcelona was about exploring a new city and its amazing architecture.

For whatever reason I wasn't thinking of London as 'vacation'...but I adored that trip and would do it again in a minute (it was with friends and staying with friends so that was even better), so I'm going to say London

I also love beachy places--though now I sort of live in one, so I wonder if my house counts? ;)

Southern Germany. Mmm...I was there one summer as an exchange student and it was unforgettable. The loveliest cities, beautiful Lake Constance, the Black Forest, and Switzerland and Austria within close reach, complete with Alps! Not to mention fabulous cuisine (loads of cheese, noodles and potatoes, right up my alley) and incomprehensible dialects. Ah...*basking in nostalgia*
