Playing Catch Up

Whew. What a week. I met my publisher for the first time face to face last weekend. We had a fantastic time hanging out at the Jersey Shore. Then on Saturday, at the Blast at the Beach softball tournament book signing in Salisbury, Maryland, we sold and signed our entire box of SCREWBALL books in two hours. Yay! Check out my shiny forehead in the picture. Hence, the mean nickname turtle wax. For some unknown reason, my forehead reflects more sun then a mirror. :) We rode the Lewes ferry from New Jersey to Delaware, watched some sensational softball, and met a ton of fastpitch players, parents, and fans. Thanks Salisbury!

Lance Armstrong's LiveStrong website launched last week. I was
lucky enough to contribute some articles for this great site. Check it out here. Also, I'm over at Pretty Tough today blogging about seven ways to beat the heat this softball season.

Finally, I read one of the best biographies ever last week. In fact, I finished it in one night. Tito Ortiz's THIS IS GONNA HURT. While some biographies are over edited, this book was written in Tito's voice and it was extremely raw and honest. Okay, I admit it, I'm a bit infatuated with wrestling and MMA.

A couple days later, I received Jessica Brody's FIDELITY FILES for my South Jersey Mom column. And I'm loving this one too. I'm in the midst of reading a streak of great books. :) What are you reading? Have you picked up a book that you can't put down lately? Have a great day!

Yes, I have picked up a book lately that I can't seem to put down! Which is a bit of a problem as I'm supposed to be painting the bathroom!! The book is: Mouthing the Words by Camilla Gibb.

Glad you had so much fun with your publisher!

I thought you hadn't blogged in a while, but it sounds like you've been super busy! And having fun. Congrats on selling all the books in the box. What a perfect venue!
No books I couldn't put down recently, but, then, I can put almost anything down these days.

Man, you are soooo busy- how do you keep it all straight??

Well, as far as reading goes, for me, it's still all about research-- though I am reading James Van Praagh's latest-- GHOSTS AMONG US-- and I'm really enjoying it!

I plan to read some fiction just as soon as I'm done with my manuscript . . .

Oh, and YAY on THE FIDELITY FILES-- it's such a fun read!

Hi, Barrie - I'm going to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion and good luck with the bathroom.

Hi, PJ - Yes, selling at the tournaments was my publishers great idea. :) Thanks.

Hi, Alyson - I have some not so good days. :) THANKS FOR RECOMMENDING FIDELITY FILES! I love, love, love it! Tito's book was research, too. :)

Hey Keri... I had a great time in Salisbury and walking the boardwalk in Wildwood. But my family ate all of my fudge :( It was wonderful to meet you (and selling so many books was pretty cool, too) Let's do it again in Texas and Wisonsin!!!!!

I don't know how you write with all of that noise in the house - ha ha.

Keep up the great work - you're an amazing writer and I can't wait to read the next book.

Thanks, Kim :) - I'm so sorry you didn't get to eat any of the delicious fudge. I'll bring some with me to Wisconsin. And yes, it has quieted down since you left. My daughter has perfected her high pitched scream and has moved on to jumping on couches. :)

Hi, Virginia - LOL - He's a hottie. :)

Oh fun meeting the publisher!

The Tito O. books sounds great. I'll have to check it out! I'm in the midst of Fatal Waltz by Tasha Alexander (an historical romantic suspense) and I have so many others lined up. Gah!
