Cancer Sucks

Recently, I received an email from a softball coach.

Hi, Mrs. Mikulski,

As you can see from the email below, this is written in an attempt to help a 15 year-old softball player named Ashley get through a difficult time. She has been diagnosed with AML (leukemia) and has recently begun treatment. So far many people who don't even know Ashley have been posting messages in a guest book within a website that has been made specifically for her. I understand that she reads the messages and it has been a great source of comfort and support. I thought I'd reach even further and see if teams, players, and softball people in general from across the country would be interested in posting a message of support to Ashley.

Thanks,

How touching. And actually really nice that they got in touch with you to help spread the word.

Cancer DOES suck--and, unfortunately, it's hit very close to home over the last few years . . .my heart goes out to Ahsley, though she's lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful people, that kind of love and support really helps!

Hi, Kelly - Yup, cancer sucks!

Hi, PJ - Yes, I was so touched that the coach heard about SCREWBALL from his girls and contacted me to spread the word.

Hi, Alyson - I know what you mean. I'm dealing with it right now with someone very close and it sucks... In fact, over the past year, I've heard the word cancer way too much. :(

Oh, Keri! That's so sad. I'll definitely stop by. One of the high school students in the town where I live got leukemia. He had a really rough year, but he worked hard and graduated on time, and now he's fully recovered, so there's hope.
